Barrenetxea’s stoppage-time goal gives Real Sociedad a 3–2 win at Valencia

Early chances before Sučić’s opener

Real Sociedad had an early opening from a wide free kick, but Valencia goalkeeper Dimitrievski made a double save around the fourth minute. Valencia countered through Danjuma, whose cross Javi Guerra could not reach. De Haas then intercepted a dangerous Sociedad attack after a turnover.

Sučić put Sociedad ahead in the 26th minute after a layoff from Ochieng. Valencia had a chance to respond when Danjuma sent a pass toward Hugo Duro, but Jon Martín prevented it from reaching him. Before halftime, Dimitrievski denied both Guedes and Oyarzabal to keep the margin at one goal.

Mayol brings Valencia level

Valencia brought on Otorbi for Ugrinic at halftime. De Haas later cut out another dangerous pass from Ochieng, and Mayol equalized with a half-volley in the 57th minute. Otorbi also created a chance for Javi Guerra that a Sociedad defender cleared off the line. Remiro turned another Otorbi counterattack behind.

Soler’s penalty and another equalizer

Herrera won a penalty that Soler converted in the 76th minute, restoring Sociedad’s lead. Valencia equalized again in the second half, making it 2–2. The teams were level heading into stoppage time, after each had lost a lead or erased a deficit during the match.

Barrenetxea settles it in stoppage time

Barrenetxea scored from a corner in the 92nd minute to put Sociedad ahead for the third time. Valencia still had a chance to equalize: Aimar Blázquez met a header, but Remiro saved it. Óskarsson received a second yellow card in the 96th minute, and Sociedad finished with a 3–2 win.
