Sučić’s 90th-Minute Goal Gives Real Sociedad a 3–2 Win at Elche

Ochieng and Herrera put Sociedad ahead

Real Sociedad took the lead after ten minutes when Ochieng scored from a loose ball following a corner. It was the first of two first-half goals involving Ochieng, whose next contribution came as the provider rather than the scorer.

In the 32nd minute, Herrera scored from Ochieng’s pass. The goal extended Sociedad’s advantage to two before halftime, leaving Elche needing a response after the break.

Elche gets back to level terms

Lemar scored for Elche in the second half, cutting the deficit created by Sociedad’s two first-half goals. Jon Martín was also sent off for handball.

With roughly a quarter-hour left, Fer Niño scored the equalizer. Elche had gone from trailing by two goals to drawing level, and it then had late chances to win. Those chances gave Elche an opportunity to complete its comeback before Sociedad’s final goal.

Sučić scores the winner

The match was still level when Sučić carried the ball forward and scored in the 90th minute. His goal put Real Sociedad back ahead after Fer Niño’s equalizer and proved to be the winner. Sociedad finished with a 3–2 victory at Elche, having seen its early two-goal lead erased before deciding the match late.
