Budimir opens Arrasate's return with a penalty

CA Osasuna won at home against R. Racing Club on Sunday, October 18, in Jornada 9 of the 2026/27 league season, finishing with a 2-0 victory.

The match marked Jagoba Arrasate's first game back as Osasuna head coach at El Sadar. His side went ahead through Budimir, who converted an early penalty after Jeanuël Belocian fouled him inside the area.

Agirrezabala denies Dubasín before halftime

Racing retained the starting eleven from their preceding draw against Valencia CF. They improved as the first half progressed, producing their better attacking actions from set pieces. Canales and Zabiri both sent attempts from outside the area off target before halftime.

Osasuna also created further opportunities, with Rubén García heading wide. In the 41st minute, Agirrezabala used his body to deny Dubasín a clear chance.

Racing changes personnel as Osasuna threatens again

At halftime, Andrés replaced Almeida on Racing's right flank, with Canales moving centrally. Racing had more possession but struggled to create clear chances; Pablo García replaced Canales in the 69th minute.

After the interval, García shot narrowly wide for Osasuna, while Budimir struck the side netting.

Osambela converts the late rebound

Racing introduced Aarón and Villalibre in the 83rd minute while seeking an equalizer. Pablo García provided their best late opportunity.

The closing goal came from an Osasuna counterattack led by Iñigo Arguibide. His powerful shot forced a save, and Osambela converted the rebound in the 88th minute to complete the scoring.

Osasuna finished the match with eleven points from their opening nine league games of the season.

Racing remained without an away point in the 2026/27 league competition following the defeat in Pamplona.
