Barcelona beats Elche 5–0 as Raphinha and Fermin score twice

Raphinha opens the scoring

Barcelona took the lead in the 14th minute after Espart intercepted a pass and Fermin found Raphinha. Chust fouled Raphinha, who converted the resulting penalty. It was the first of Raphinha’s two goals against Elche.

Before halftime, Gavi left after a collision and Pedri replaced him. Barcelona then added a second goal in first-half stoppage time: Bernal and Yamal combined before Raphinha set up Adeyemi for a debut goal. Barcelona led 2–0 at the break, with Raphinha involved in both first-half goals.

Gordon sets up two second-half goals

Gordon came off the bench and assisted Raphinha’s second goal in the 67th minute. Raphinha had opened the scoring from the penalty spot and had set up Adeyemi before halftime; his second goal made it three for Barcelona.

Four minutes later, Gordon provided another assist, squaring the ball for Fermin to finish into an empty net. That was Fermin’s first goal of the match and Barcelona’s second in a four-minute span. Cancelo also entered for his first appearance of his third Barcelona spell.

Fermin adds the fifth

Espart supplied Fermin for another goal in the 79th minute. Fermin turned away from Redondo and finished into the far corner, giving him two goals after his earlier finish from Gordon’s pass. Barcelona beat Elche 5–0, with Raphinha and Fermin accounting for four of its five goals.
