Alavés Beat Getafe 3–0 With Three Second-Half Goals

No Goals Before Halftime

Alavés and Getafe reached halftime at 0–0. Sivera saved an effort from Satriano before the break, keeping Getafe from scoring in the first half. In the 42nd minute, Femenia was shown a red card after a VAR review led to his card being upgraded. Despite that change, the teams went into the interval without a goal.

Tenaglia Breaks the Tie

Soria kept out Mariano Diaz’s header from Youssef’s cross in the 71st minute. Alavés scored two minutes later when Mariano crossed for Tenaglia, whose header went into the upper-right corner. The goal broke the tie after a scoreless first half and put Alavés ahead.

In the 79th minute, Sivera stopped Terrats’s effort from outside the box. Getafe had another attempt when Unal headed wide from a Terrats set piece. Soria also saved a late attempt by Aleña for Alavés. Tenaglia’s header remained the only goal until stoppage time.

Two Goals in Stoppage Time

Mariano added Alavés’s second goal with a shot from outside the box on a counterattack. He then assisted Mikel Rodriguez, who finished with his left foot. Both goals came in stoppage time, extending the lead Tenaglia had given Alavés in the 73rd minute. Alavés won 3–0 after the teams had been level at halftime.
