Boye’s First-Half Goal Gives Alavés a 1–0 Win Over Villarreal

Boye breaks through before halftime

Alavés created an early chance when Antonio Blanco crossed for Lucas Boye, but Luiz Junior saved his attempt. Villarreal also had an opening from distance, with Sivera denying Buchanan from outside the area. Boye then put Alavés ahead in the 31st minute, finishing with his right foot after an assist from Angel Perez.

Villarreal had a chance to answer before the break, but Sivera saved Gerard Moreno’s effort. Alavés went into halftime leading 1–0, with Boye’s goal the difference between the teams.

Sivera answers another Villarreal chance

Alavés made a second-half change in the 54th minute when Mariano replaced the injured Toni Martinez. Villarreal later threatened through Pepe after a pass from Moreno, but Sivera made the save. At the other end, Angel Perez struck the post on a counterattack in the 69th minute, leaving Alavés without a second goal.

Late chances leave the result unchanged

Villarreal came close again in the 84th minute when Foyth hit the right post from Moleiro’s setup. Sivera made late saves against Foyth, Pepe and Ayoze, while Renato Veiga missed close to the left post following a corner. None of those chances changed the score, and Alavés finished with a 1–0 win.
