VfB Stuttgart vs. TSG Hoffenheim: Hložek Scores Twice as Hoffenheim Beats Stuttgart 2–1

Hložek puts Hoffenheim ahead

Hložek had already hit the side netting when he put Hoffenheim in front in the 13th minute. Conte won the ball and passed to Hložek, who scored the opener. That early goal stood as the difference at halftime.

Both sides had chances before the break. Demirović made two attempts for Stuttgart, while Bredlow saved another effort from Hložek. Stuttgart also had to make a change when Stiller left injured and Spalt replaced him. Hoffenheim carried its one-goal lead into the second half.

Stuttgart draws level after halftime

Stuttgart equalized in the 48th minute. Baumann pushed Vagnoman’s delivery into Mittelstädt’s path, and Mittelstädt finished the loose ball. The goal brought Stuttgart level after trailing throughout the first half.

Pejčinović then had two chances for Stuttgart, shooting narrowly wide on one and seeing Baumann stop the other. At the opposite end, Bredlow denied Lemperle while the match was tied. Neither chance changed the score before Hoffenheim’s next opening.

Hložek decides it in the 67th minute

Hoffenheim regained the lead when Hajdari intercepted a Pejčinović pass and Daghim set up Hložek in the 67th minute. Hložek’s second goal made it 2–1, giving Hoffenheim the decisive response to Stuttgart’s equalizer.

Stuttgart’s late chances go unfinished

Stuttgart had opportunities to answer again. Substitute Undav threatened after Hoffenheim retook the lead, and Chabot had a late headed chance as Stuttgart sought another equalizer. Neither produced a goal. Hoffenheim finished with a 2–1 win, with Hložek’s two goals on either side of Mittelstädt’s equalizer accounting for the scoring.
